Person behind Origin and concept Padma Shree Prof. C. M. Habeebullah

He was a distinguished Indian gastroenterologist whose contributions significantly shaped the field of digestive health and medical education in India. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to medicine, Prof. Habeebullah was honored with the Padma Shree, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in 2001.

He is widely recognized for his expertise in luminal gastroenterology, therapeutic endoscopy, and stem cell research in liver diseases. He is the son of the legendary Padma Shri Prof. C. M. Habeebullah, a pioneer in hepatology in India.
